This project highlight focuses on our work for VEGA in Amersfoort. VEGA is a company that specializes in developing and producing precision measuring equipment, an incredibly meticulous task.
The Challenge
Our primary challenge was to create a tailored greenery plan that seamlessly met the organization’s needs. This plan needed to reflect the interior design of their German branch while maintaining its own unique identity. Additionally, we had to ensure the functional use of the space and maintain clear walking routes. An added request was to improve the acoustics of the workspace and provide each fixed workstation with a refreshing green element, allowing every employee to benefit from the greenery plan.
The Creative Plan
Our goal was to integrate functional greenery without compromising the space, exactly as the client envisioned. At the same time, we ensured that our green design would fit seamlessly into the historic coach house, respecting its original architectural features.
Starting at the entrance. We created a warm welcome with two large leaf plants in concrete planters, filled with natural bark. This immediately brings the outdoors inside. Following that, we added a Kentia Palm in a Bosco Bark Bowl on the first floor, this was placed near the staircase to add a touch of natural elegance to this central area. Lastly, Urban Jungle-style plants was introduced on the first floor in custom-made black planter cabinets. These cabinets maintain the functionality of the space and keep walking routes unobstructed. Additionally, a Ficus Lyrata was placed between the meeting room and lounge area. This placement creates a sense of connection and fills both spaces without being overly dominant.
The Result
The outcome is an attractive and functional workspace, with greenery visible from every workstation. The plants brighten the interiors and provide significant acoustic benefits, enhancing the overall working environment.
Our design seamlessly integrates with the historical charm of the coach house, achieving a perfect balance between old and new. This project demonstrates that subtle green additions can make a substantial impact on workspaces. They bring the feeling of the outdoors inside, creating an inspiring and refreshing environment for everyone.
